The 2nd Annual Friends for Downers Grove Township Seniors (FFDGTS)OktoberFest Fundraiser took place on October 3rd at Oak Trace Senior Living, a Lifespace Community.

Oak Trace generously hosted the event, which is dedicated to improving senior living for our township seniors. Funds went directly to supporting Township senior programs, activities, resources and providing equipment and furnishings for the upcoming township senior community center to be built in 2020.

It was a great evening full of music, delicious refreshments, amazing raffle baskets and vital networking among individuals/groups serving the senior community.

Additionally, the fundraiser honored Senior VIP of the year, Hanna Benioff, a long-time township resident and employee responsible for creating and maintaining with excellence, many of the programs and activities we have today such as Vintage Times, Banner News and the Senior Car Care Clinic. We have been able to build upon this structure in the past 2 years to include our Senior Survival Skills program of speakers and relevant topics.

FFDGTS wants to thank ALL of its sponsors without whose dedication and thoughtfulness these activities would not be possible. All of the sponsors not only give back to their communities by sharing information and resources, but personally give of themselves to make our community stronger and more self reliant!

FFDGTS especially wants to thank those in the GOLD and SILVER categories!

In the GOLD Category: Clemens Enterprises, Community Bank of Downers Grove, Law Offices of Eileen Fitzgerald.

In the SILVER Category: Adolf Services, Angileri Law, Arthur Donner, Aspired Living, Brian Krajewski, Clear Captions, Independence4Seniors, Lacey Creek, Mark Thoman, Neptune Society, Robert Petranek
