Dear Downers Grove Township Unincorporated Residents

Re: Tornado Impacted Area

For all those affected in unincorporated Downers Grove Township by Sunday‚Äôs tornado, the Township is working diligently with DuPage County to assist affected residents. All roads should be cleared by the end of the week. In addition, Com Ed has reported all electricity is back on.

We have been working with the county to come up with a plan to pick up debris from the trees. Please bring any debris out to the parkway. The county will be by on a periodic basis over the next few weeks. It is important that all construction materials be separated from the debris.

Groot will be supplying dumpsters at various locations throughout the impacted area. These dumpsters are for any personal items that were destroyed in the storm. Other materials such as siding fences etc. can be left curbside at your normal garbage pickup day.  As the locations of the dumpsters become known we will release the address.

The Highway Department has activated the Emergency Management Agreements with other Townships.

The townships that have helped include Wayne, Winfield, Milton, Lisle and Addison. In addition, the Township is partnering with Volunteer agencies to get equipment and personal to help.

If you have any questions please email Paul Coultrap, Supervisor Downers Grove Township at paul.coultrap@dgtownship.com.

Paul Coultrap
