The initial rendering of the Downers Grove Township Center. It’s a new building that will be sited immediately west of the existing Township Offices building.

DG Township is not just Downers Grove, it’s the SE portion of DuPage County, serving over 147,000 residents and covering nine communities.

The Township Center project is designed for senior, social, and human services.

A 36-year partnership with the FISH Food and Clothing Pantry will continue, and provide better more efficient service to those in need. Raised bed vegetable gardens are planned to provide fresh food in season to the FISH Pantry.

Meals on Wheels volunteers make over 400 regular stops in our Township. DuPage Senior Citizens Council will be partners using this facility to care for our senior citizens living in their homes.

A much larger gathering space will let more senior citizens attend our popular Senior Survival Series meetings. Bigger meeting space opens up opportunity for more volunteer driven programs.

Downers Grove North environmental science students will be able to practice what they’re taught in the Townships first STEM prairie lab. This partnership will showcase what citizens and businesses can do themselves on their own properties, as well as train our youth.

It may seem a foreign concept, but there’s no offices in this building to make Township government bigger. Rather, it’s space with the purpose to better serve all Township citizens, space that’s been methodically planned and saved for.

No tax hikes. No borrowing. All service.

Stay tuned. Coming to the Township late 2020.
