Financial Relief Programs

Benefit Access Program provides:

  1. RTA Ride Free Transit cards for persons age 65 and older
  2. RTA Ride Free cards for persons with disabilities
  3. Secretary of State License Plate Discounts

To qualify for the program, Income for the previous year must be below $33,562/individual or $44,533/couple and $55,500/3 or more people.  Please call the Township office for an appointment if you need help with your application: (630) 719-6670. Applications are available online only: 

Weatherization Assistance – includes the repair of windows and doors as well as maintaining, repairing, or possibly replacing furnace units. Household income must be at least 200% of the federal poverty guideline, or there must be a member of the household who receives certain other assistance programs. Counseling for Senior Homeowners – the DuPage Homeownership Center offers free, confidential, unbiased information and counseling to senior homeowners about reverse mortgages, tax relief options and low-cost home repair programs that can help seniors maintain their independence. Senior Home Sharing – is a not-for profit organization dedicated to helping meet the need for affordable senior housing by providing a shared housing option. SHS group homes are located in Lombard and Naperville. Contact them online:

Shared Housing Program – offered by DuPage County Human Services, matches people who have similar needs, interests, and lifestyles who might benefit from sharing housing arrangements. For more information call (800) 942-9412.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Programs (LIHEAP) – assists eligible households in paying for winter heating services. Eligibility is determined through a variety of factors. Home visits are available to assist home-bound persons in applying. Prevention of Spousal Impoverishment – federal law protects spouses of nursing home residents from losing their income and assets to pay for nursing home care for their spouse. For more information contact: (800) 252-8966; (800) 2061327/TTY or visit:
