Driver improvement classes for senior drivers are discussed during Vintage Times, a local cable television program for older persons.

Majority of senior citizens are good and safe drivers, however sometimes their ability to drive is compromised due to certain age related physical changes, medical conditions, medications or other causes. This program discusses local classes for seniors that teach driving safety. “Seniors learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate their vehicles safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment,” explains Bill Gardner, Illinois State Coordinator of AARP’s Driver Safety Program.

This program can be seen on the following channels:
• DGTV Channel 6, during the month of November 2016 on Mondays and Fridays at 10:30 am
• Comcast Channel 19, during the month of December 2016 on Thursdays at 6 pm
• In the Village of Darien, daily at 4 pm on Channel 6

DVD copies will be available for loan at public libraries in Downers Grove, Darien, and Westmont as well as at the Township Office.
