Meeting the safety needs of older adults is discussed on the Vintage Times, a local cable television program for older persons.
Safety is an important issue for many older persons. As we age, we are at greater risk of injuries in our homes. We also worry about crimes such as burglaries, scams and identity theft. This program presents two experts who discuss several safety issues. Marsha Giesler of the Downers Grove Fire Department explains how to improve our safety at home and Marion Heinz of the Downers Grove Police Department explains how to reduce our risk of becoming victims of a crime.
This program can be seen on the following channels:
- DGTV channel 6, during the month of September 2016 on Mondays and Fridays at 10:30
- Comcast channel 19, during the month of October 2016 on Thursdays at 6 pm.
- In the Village of Darien, daily at 4 pm on channel 6.
