Teens have more unsupervised time in the summer they are more likely to engage in new drug use and other risky behaviors? There is a spike in marijuana use as well as cigarettes and alcohol use. Teens who are unsupervised are three times more likely to use marijuana or other drugs than those who are not. https://www.drugabuse.gov/ 11% of Burr Ridge Middle School 8th graders participate in service clubs (e.g. Scouting, 4H etc.), 40% in activity clubs (e.g. YMCA, Boy/Girls Clubs etc.) and 21% in youth or other faith-based groups.
