If you EVER get a call from someone asking you to pay for back taxes (IRS), bail money, debts, utility bills or cable bills with an Amazon gift cards, an iTunes gift card, PayPal, or reloadable cards like Money-Pak, Reloadit, Vanilla, or by money transfers through services like Western Union or MoneyGram…think twicethis is a scam.

If you give someone the code from any of the above cards, or send a wire transfer, you probably won’t get your money back. Always, always double check these scare tactic calls by talking to a relative, a friend or the police before you send or wire money, or buy these cards

You can check whether you were given correct information by looking up the phone number of the company or organization yourself. Then, call that number to verify first. It only takes a couple of minutes but will be worth it. Don’t get scammed
