Supervisor Mark Thoman reports:

“We’re moving forward on the planned Township Center building that will provide significantly larger needed meeting space for Township residents, especially our seniors. It’ll also allow us to expand and dramatically improve accessibility of the FISH Food and Clothing Pantry.

“With the Capital Project Fund, we’ve saved up funds, and will be paying for this project with no expected tax increase and no debt borrowing. Not For Profit Charities for the pantry and for our human services are raising funds via tax deductible donations to help outfit the building once built.

“The net result is Downers Grove Township will be better able to serve residents of our Township both now and in the future for many years to come.”

The Township plans for construction to begin spring 2020. Dedication is projected for late fall/early winter 2020.
