SARAH DESCHAMPS - PREVENTION SPECIALIST
I've been a Prevention Specialist with the Downers Grove Township since February 2006. While attending Eastern Illinois University, I majored in Family Services and minored in Psychology. In addition, I completed an internship with the Central East Alcoholism and Drug Council, working at a recovery home for women with children. Thus, my interest in Prevention began.
My responsibilities at the Township include coordinating the Westview Hills Peer Led Life Skills Program, completing registration and training for D.A.R.E. events, and serving as a staff member for the Illinois Teen Institute. I am also an adult small group leader for Snowball events and coordinate the Intergenerational Dance for senior citizens.
As the oldest of four, I love working with younger students who inspire and challenge me. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends, working out, and listening to music.
