HANNA BENIOFF - SENIOR SERVICES COORDINATOR

I have lived in Downers Grove since 1961 where my husband and I raised three children. We are the proud grandparents of 7 grandchildren.

Public service has always been an important part of my life. For the last 45 years I have been a member of the League of Women Voters, which I served as president for three years. I was also a member of other community groups such as Citizens' Advisory Committees for School Districts 68 & 99. For the last ten years I have been president of the Illinois Cochlear Implant Club.

To further my education I have attended George Williams College in Downers Grove and Roosevelt University in Chicago where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science.

From 1979 to 1983, I worked at the Village of Woodridge for the Economic Development Commission and the Community Events Commission.

Since 1985 I have been employed by Township of Downers Grove as staff person for Senior Citizens Advisory Committee. My responsibilities include providing information and assistance to older persons with programs such as the Dial-A-Ride transportation program, File of Life emergency medical information cards, a home inspection program, the RTA Senior Fare cards, Illinois Cares RX program and the Senior Citizens Tax Deferral Program. Information is disseminated via newsletters, cable television, the township's website, the telephone and in-office visits.
