BIOGRAPHY
Barbara J. Wheat was first elected Township Supervisor in 1977 and served until 1985. At that time, Barbara went to work as the Administrator for Congressman Harris Fawell. She was elected to serve as Township Supervisor again in 1993, and has served as the Supervisor ever since.
Barbara has two married children, Cathy and Peter, two grandsons, Scott and Tim, and two great grandsons, William and Joseph. She enjoys spending time with her family, as well as her labrador retriever, Bo. She has been a lifelong resident of Downers Grove, as were her parents. Her husband, Joe, passed away in 2006.
