David Kalet and his wife Janice are residents of Westmont. David was born in Upstate New York and grew up on his family’s dairy farm. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and an MBA from Purdue University. He is a registered and licensed CPA in Illinois.
David is retired from a 40-year career in the Oil and Chemical Industry having worked for Union Carbide, Amoco and BP. He is the sole practitioner for his tax and accounting practice, David Kalet CPA LLC serving individuals and small businesses. He is a member of the Individual Tax Committee at the Illinois CPA Society. Dave and Jan are parishioners at Notre Dame Catholic Church. He enjoys cooking, gardening, and woodworking.
Abby Ferguson was elected to the Downers Grove Township Board in 2017. Abby has a B.A. degree in both Political Science and History from Elmhurst College. During college Abby studied at both American University in Washington, D.C. and St. Andrews University in St. Andrews, Scotland. She also played on the Elmhurst College Women’s Golf Team.
Abby lived in Springfield where she worked as a fellow on the Illinois Senate Staff on both the Insurance Committee and the Pensions Committee. She has worked on several campaigns and in the public affairs arena where she currently manages the Chicago Area Public Affairs Group.
Abby is a committeeman in the Downers Grove Township Republican Organization (DGTRO). Abby is also a member of the DuPage Young Republicans, the Hinsdale Junior Women’s Club, and the Clarendon Hills Special Events Committee. She attends Christ Church of Oak Brook.
Karen, lifelong resident of Downers Grove, is a graduate of Downers Grove South High School. She holds a B.S. Degree in Management and Business from National Louis University.
Karen was employed in the corporate environment for more than forty years and began her career at McDonald’s Corporation and worked in Human Resources and Purchasing. She recently retired from CNH Industrial where she worked in Treasury and Finance.
Karen is passionate about volunteering and giving time to the community. She is a horse care provider for the Forest Preserve of DuPage County volunteering for more than ten years. She is a member of the Friends of Danada Fact Finder’s Committee, currently unearthing historical facts about Dan and Ada Rice, owners of the Danada Farm and racing stables in Wheaton. Additionally, Karen was a committee member for a Fashion Show Fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House and chaired the event in 2004.
Karen and her husband Arthur live in Downers Grove and have two adult daughters, one son, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
