Hello, my name is Julie Waterman and I am a life skills teacher for the Downers Grove Township and I am thrilled to be a part of this very important team! As a life skills teacher, I am responsible for implementing various lessons of character building to middle school and junior high students within the Township.
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Business and worked at Fleet Capital Leasing for seven years before going back to school to realize my passion for working with our youth. In 2004, I completed a Masters Degree in School and Guidance Counseling from Lewis University, which included an internship at Argo Community High School. Since 2004, I’ve been a stay at home mom to our three sons, Nathan (8), Justin (7), and Andrew (5).
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, sons, and our wheaton terrier. I look forward to traveling with my family and improving my golf game each summer, coaching the basketball team of our son each winter, and keeping up with reading the newest bestsellers. I look for ways to give back to the Downers Grove Community, where our family resides, and I currently volunteer with the PADS program and within our children’s school.
