The Township Supervisor strongly encourages eligible seniors/disabled to make an appointment with appropriate township staff for help with the Benefit Access Application. Walk-ins are accepted if staff is available at that time, but not guaranteed. Residents can call ahead to determine if staff is available, however, making an appointment will ensure that residents receive assistance in a timely manner.

The Benefit Access Program provides Senior Ride Free Transit (65 & older), Persons with Disabilities Ride Free Transit and Secretary of State License Plate Discount for eligible persons below a certain income ceiling: single- $27,610, couple- $36,635 and 3 or more people in household- $45,657. Ride Free Transit is for Metra Trains and Pace buses. The license plate discount is about one fourth of the actual cost.

Residents can apply up to 3 months before their Benefit Access Certificate expires and certification can take up to 12 weeks from the date of application.

Residents must apply every two years for this benefit and bring their taxes and/or social security statements from the previous year. For up-to-date accurate information on eligibility and which statements to bring, contact township staff or check online:
