The 2011 final assessed values and tax information will be displayed in our Parcel Search as soon as it is released by DuPage County – hopefully by week’s end.
Although most parcels in Downers Grove Township saw a decrease in the assessed value from 2010 to 2011, those same parcels may see an increase in the tax rate and resulting tax bill. Why? The tax burden is based on the needs of each taxing body; on whether the need for funds have decreased, increased or stayed the same.
If you know your estimated market value is too high, it can be reviewed for the 2012 assessment year, payable 2013. Please contact our office or send your documentation directly to us by mail, email to assessor@dgtownship.com, or fax to (630) 719-6653.
Should you need to change the name and/or address on your tax bill please contact the DuPage County Clerk’s Revenue Department at (630) 407-5540. You may also want to contact your mortgage company to make sure they are set up to pay your tax bill directly to the DuPage County Treasurer.
