The Township will be participating in an application for adult mosquito control Thursday, August 30th, 2018 in the unincorporated areas of Downers Grove Township.  Traps within the Township have had several positive collections for West Nile Virus carrying species, and the threat level has increased to level 3.  The last adult mosquito control application in the Township was made on August 7th, 2018.  Mosquitoes carrying WNV have also been collected in several neighboring communities. This is a coordinated area-wide application including the Village of Downers Grove, Woodridge, Lisle, Westmont, Clarendon Hills Blackhawk Mosquito Abatement District, and Burr Ridge.

The Township urges extra caution when outside, and asks all residents to check their yards to empty any standing water that may provide breeding areas for mosquitoes. More information is available here.
